About Oud House

Oud House is a gallery and co-working space in the Rotterdam neighborhood Bospolder-Tussendijken (BoTu).

As an interdisciplinary platform in BoTu, Oud House engages with the cultural and spatial dynamics of Rotterdam West. We present and develop projects at the intersection of art, architecture, fashion, and urban culture, with a particular focus on local production and social space. Our curatorial practice explores how urban life become visible and discussable through art and design. As part of the cultural sector of Rotterdam on a citywide level, and directly involved in the regeneration of the BoTu district, Oud House functions as a public space for collaboration, experimentation and reflection.

Since our opening in 2024, we have hosted over 20 exhibitions and 80 events, working with over one hundred local artists.

Vintage fashion

Oud House is the base of local vintage clothing seller exes.collection. Exes shows a curated collection of quality vintage clothing, released periodically, combined with a selection of local art.

exes.collection collaborates on a regular basis with independent artists and makers from the Rotterdam region, as well as nationally and abroad.

Architecture and research

The Oud House team is actively involved in research projects that deal with architecture and culture on a citywide scale. These projects result in exhibitions, as well as publications, and invite collaboration with local parties.

Oud House is also the location of Baltussen-Van Schaik Architecten. Founded in 2017 by Jesper Baltussen and Margit van Schaik, the office emerged from a shared interest in how architecture facilitates and enriches people’s daily lives.
