After a refreshing summer break, we’re back and fully charged for a new seaon. Kicking off with the 5th edition of 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 +𝙖𝙧𝙩, where exes invites five artists to present their works, from photography and oil painting to riso prints and handmade jewellery. Although their practices differ, there is a shared thread running through the works: poetic captures through their eyes. De Woonestafette was een reeks publieke gesprekken en reflectiesessies over honderd jaar woningbouw, georganiseerd tijdens de Rotterdam Architectuur Maand 2025. Piet Rook en Maarten Struijs bezoeken “De Fotografie van Piet Rook”
Op zaterdag 27 juni was een bijzondere dag: Fotograaf Piet Rook (Vlaardingen, 1942) bezocht de tentoonstelling gewijd aan zijn Rotterdamse werk uit de jaren tachtig en negentig, en ontmoette daar zijn jarenlange opdrachtgever Maarten Struijs (Vlaardingen, 1946). About Oud House
Oud House is a gallery and co-working space in the Rotterdam neighborhood Bospolder-Tussendijken (BoTu).
Oud House is named after renowned architect J.J.P. Oud, designer of the working class housing block “Tusschendijken” in which Oud House is located. In 1924 the massive project was completed, with 1005 standardized dwellings, boasting modern bedrooms and six sizable communal courtyards. A city within a city.
During his work on Tusschendijken, Oud was involved with the Dutch De Stijl movement. Their magazine “De Stijl” combined graphic design, painting, sculpture, architecture, typography and more, in an effort to radically reform the arts. Oud’s 1917 contribution on the monumental city presents a new spatial future for Dutch urbanism—the basis of the Tusschendijken project.
Through this lens we curate a continuous interdisciplinary exhibition program focused on this city, living in this city, partaking in this city. We invite local artists and designers to reflect on themes that matter to the people of this city—housing, gentrification, food, politics, criminality, retail, creativity, etc—and attempt to foster and support a community of peers.
Since our opening in 2024, we have hosted over 20 exhibitions and 80 events, working with over 150 local artists.

Oud House is the base of local vintage clothing seller exes.collection. Exes shows a curated collection of quality vintage clothing, released periodically, combined with a selection of local art.
exes.collection collaborates on a regular basis with independent artists and makers from the Rotterdam region, as well as nationally and abroad.

Architecture and research
The Oud House team is actively involved in research projects that deal with architecture and culture on a citywide scale. These projects result in exhibitions, as well as publications, and invite collaboration with local parties.
Oud House is also the location of Baltussen-Van Schaik Architecten. Founded in 2017 by Jesper Baltussen and Margit van Schaik, the office emerged from a shared interest in how architecture facilitates and enriches people’s daily lives.
